I'm indebted to the BBC for bringing my attention to news of a takeover of one my previous employers. It seems that SSL International, makers of Durex condoms, is to be sold to Reckitt Benckiser, who make "Cillit Bang" cleaner and "Finish" dishwasher tablets. It's also noteworthy that Reckitt also make "Vanish". To be honest folks, there are so many jokes in this I don't know where to start, but at least it's given me a good laugh for the day :-) Link to the BBC in "More".. Via BBC |

Okay, so it was yesterday's Daily Mail, but it's sill relevent.. "Mr Jobs .. chatted with staff and customers.. He even gave a demonstration of what the iPad can do to a teenage girl". Well I guess it depends on how you hold/throw the iPad - could be nasty! hehehehe

I had to smile at the latest example of inappropriate banner ads from the well-meaning folks at the Medway Council web site who are promoting "Surfing safely - do you know what your child is looking at on the internet?". How unfortunate then that they decided to publicise the latest production at the Central Theatre, Chatham on the same page (see picture). If you didn't know what your child was looking at before, you certainly will now ;-) |

I'm pleased to report that since discovering some coins I bought back in 1977, there's been a verifiable return on my original investment of 400%. Yes. That's right. Four hundred percent. Beat THAT government stock. I'm so *very* pleased that I bought six: at the time I thought it was a rash decision, but now my folly/foresight has been rewarded. What more can I tell you, other than that my Jubilee Crowns (price 25pence) are now worth 100pence each. Investment. Ain't it great? LOLLLLLLL |

The web's a wonderful thing and search engines are a life-saver but there are times when they turn up not just the results you want but also the ones that make you go "oh!". And so it was with one of my visitors who searched for "MySpace clubbing images" - not an unreasonable search, but as always there are two sides to it: see the attached image.. |
